Mladen Stropnik è un artista visivo che, da alcuni anni, mi tiene aggiornato sulle sue creazioni artistiche. Le trovo poetiche, ironiche e complessivamente molto divertenti. Dopo molti anni di frequentazione a distanza ho ritenuto di mettergli a disposizione lo spazio della rivista Liminateatri per questo “ Autoscatto” (il titolo è mio), senza aggiungere alcun commento a quanto ha ritenuto di voler comunicare.

“Self-picture”

Mladen Stropnik is a slovenian visual artist who, for a few years, has been keeping me updated with his creations. I find them poetic, ironic and generally very amusing. After lots of years of long-distance correspondence, I decided to find him a place in the magazine Liminateatri for this “self-picture” (the title is mine), without adding anything apart from what he decided to share.

statement
there is only now.
and there is no time and space. thoughts, music and water are important. for results i need intermission. i work in order, disciplined and in love with what im doing.
clear idea is art. everthing that is simple is good.
i try to be raw with the material. when looking at art pieces it has to be seen as it was done "just like that".
i show what you see. there is no story behind. title helps with relaxing / looking / understanding an art piece. I try to stay in independent and souvereign position.
there is no bad conscience there is just good or bad decision.
iam looking for facts based on a statement and iam living with what i found.

smoking in a car and lowering the side window. now the fume can go out of car and the car will not smell so bad. object is made out of a cardboard box for coffee. inside the box there is an smouldered incense that makes the fumes going out on the hole.

photoprint of a lead singer from group »majke«. he is called bare. his perception of a world of young was clean but now on drugs his eyes coagulated. his inner world still is OK but output is not working eneymore. on eyes he has grown himself collage shaped coagulated eggs.

the map BEC was exhibited on the XIII. international exhibition intergraf alpe adria in villa manin di passariano in italy (2012) and on solo exhibition titled SOFA in graphic center in ljubljana (2012).
Green, Blue, Red, This One and Spaghetti
Using the silkscreen technique, my idealization of the “superficial” in the artwork is reaffirmed as the reasonable path. In my 2012 exhibition entitled “SOFA”, shown at the International Center of Graphic Arts, where I presented my graphical portfolio BEC, I realized that the traditional language of graphics is reaffirmed through the state of mind I am developing, next to my images and videos. At first glance, my works may seem to lack refinement. I consistently repeat these mistakes, so that they have become part of my artistic visual vocabulary.
“send me a hair”

send me a hair is false cut light blue floating paper. it is sticked on surface in one point other parts just hang down.
at first, send me a hair was named something different, but then a hair snuck into and became its alter-ego... blue is simple, laid-back, easy and the most beautiful at this moment in time, like a state of mind.
“spaghetti dream”

spaghetti dream are brown colored buckwheat pasta shaped into names of some colors. spaghetti dream is a recollection of an event which had a beautiful color scheme. the children wearing pink and yellow, her in pink, orange carpet and a blue sea outside the window. buckwheat spaghetti added some extra color and flavor.
“the puff”

the puff with green line represents cigarette smoke. paper on the bottom is raw cut. the puff is a happy memory of the past, about smoke, smoking, pleasure. the feeling you get when time and space no longer exist.

i you is figure or silhuet imprinted in orange-red paper. it is human with unknown sex.
every man is a god and no one may judge right and wrong. therefore there is no god. the i you figure represents a personality and a god.

Statement
E' solo adesso.
E non c'è tempo e spazio. Pensieri, musica e acqua sono importanti. Per avere risultati ho bisogno di interruzioni. Lavoro nell' ordine, disciplinato e innamorato di quello che faccio.
L' arte è un' idea chiara. Tutto ciò che è semplice va bene.
Cerco di essere crudo con il materiale. Quando guardando a dei pezzi d' arte deve essere visto come se fosse fatto nell' immediato.
Mostro ciò che vedi. Non c'è nessuna storia dietro. I titoli aiutano nel rilassarsi, nel guardare e nel capire un pezzo d' arte. Io cerco di rimanere in una posizione di indipendenza e ricordo.
Non c'è nessuna coscienza maligna, solo scelte giuste e sbagliate.
Sto cercando fatti basati su affermazioni e me ne vado con quello che ho trovato.
Donna con il dente d' oro
Il video è crudo, integrato in visione notturna con una lampada a mano. Le parole dette a voce non sono importanti. E' solo un suono che sembra un borbottio e guardando il video è come se il mio cazzo fosse duro.
Come va dottore?
N el video tempo e spazio svaniscono. L' orologio e il tempo non funzionano più e l' indicatore mostra tutto e al tempo stesso nessuna direzione nello spazio.
Fumetto
I l video è dedicato al fumetto e al mondo della comicità. Per me questa passione è come il cibo. Al momento amo lo stile di dough stanhope.
Finestra abbassata
Fumando in macchina e abbassando il finestrino laterale. Ora il fumo può uscire dalla macchina e la macchina non puzzerà più. Gli oggetti sono fatti di scatole di cartone per caffè. Dentro la scatola c'è incenso in polvere che fa fumo che esce da un buco.
Osso di fantasma
Disegnato su carta con un pennarello e un piccolo intervento di perforazione della carta con matite colorate verso l' osservatore. Il fantasma ha un osso nel corpo, il disegno in matita arancione disegna e simula i movimenti. Il tubo piantato nel fantasma esce dal suo corpo.
Sonno da cagnolino
Stecche di legno colorate unite con una vite. Rappresenta il piede di un cane in posizione dormiente. A volte la zampa del cane è dritta e a volte piegata. I cani dormono così in maniera comoda.
Campeggio
Carta colorata blu a forma di tubo attaccata in cima a una composizione di carta. Migliore esperienza di vita a breve termine e un weekend nella natura selvaggia.
Cinquanta e cinquanta
Collage con due buchi tagliati con sotto due diversi cerchi colorati. Fare cose nella vita con gli stessi risultati. Alcune le vinciamo, altre le perdiamo.
Mente che scorre
Carta da note colorata attaccata al retro di carta rossa che va attraverso il centro della carta e poi ritrova la via della libertà. L' idea è come mostrare pensieri mentre si fanno progressi.
Mano?
Nella carta magenta è tagliata la forma di due figure e messa poi su carta bianca con disegno. Stanno facendo un rituale. Umani che si toccano. Mani e menti che vagano nello spazio e nel corpo.
Senza titolo
Immagine di un grande orologio di plastica che ho avuto come regalo. Era lungo un metro. Era un brutto regalo che non voglio ricordare. Ho tolto le lancette apposta. L' ho disegnato su una carta di piccola dimensione che posso nascondere ancora meglio.
Rapa
Ritratto di una rapa in salute. Raccolta dal campo, lavata e messa sul tavolo.
Bare
Stampa in foto del cantante di un gruppo chiamato Majike. Si chiama Bare. La sua percezione del mondo da giovane era pulita ma ora i suoi occhi si sono coagulati a causa delle droghe. Il suo mondo interiore va ancora bene ma l' esterno non funziona più. Sugli occhi si è fatto crescere un collage di uova coagulate.
